Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking thoughtful, reflective educators who sees teaching as both an art and a practice of continuous inquiry. This role is ideal for someone who values connection over control, curiosity over compliance, and depth over speed.

• Builds strong, trusting relationships with children and families

• Views behaviour through an attachment and co-regulation lens

• Is inspired by child-led, inquiry-based learning

• Is comfortable stepping outside traditional teaching models

• Finds joy in spending extended time outdoors in all seasons

• Sees yourself as a guide, collaborator, and researcher alongside children

Key Responsibilities

• Co-create a responsive, emergent curriculum based on student interests

• Deliver explicit, systematic literacy instruction using structured literacy approaches

• Design meaningful provocations and learning experiences

• Support children’s social-emotional development through connection and co-regulation

• Facilitate outdoor learning and community-based exploration

• Document and reflect on student learning (pedagogical documentation)

• Build strong partnerships with families as co-educators

Qualifications & Experience

• OCT certification, RECE or EA

• Background in early years or elementary education (K–Grade 4)

Knowledge of:

• Inquiry-based and/or Reggio-inspired approaches

• Structured literacy / Science of Reading

• Child development and attachment theory

• Experience in alternative education settings is an asset
