Wrenport Academy is a small, relationship-centered micro-school rooted in attachment, curiosity, and child-led learning. We believe that in the right environment, with thoughtful guidance and nurturing, children grow into confident, capable, and authentic individuals.

We are not bound by a rigid curriculum. Instead, we honour each child’s developmental readiness, interests, and pace—creating a responsive and deeply engaging learning experience.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking thoughtful, reflective educators who sees teaching as both an art and a practice of continuous inquiry. This role is ideal for someone who values connection over control, curiosity over compliance, and depth over speed.
You are someone who:
Builds strong, trusting relationships with children and families
Views behaviour through an attachment and co-regulation lens
Is inspired by child-led, inquiry-based learning
Is comfortable stepping outside traditional teaching models
Finds joy in spending extended time outdoors in all seasons
Sees yourself as a guide, collaborator, and researcher alongside children
Key Responsibilities
Co-create a responsive, emergent curriculum based on student interests
Deliver explicit, systematic literacy instruction using structured literacy approaches
Design meaningful provocations and learning experiences
Support children’s social-emotional development through connection and co-regulation
Facilitate outdoor learning and community-based exploration
Document and reflect on student learning (pedagogical documentation)
Build strong partnerships with families as co-educators
Qualifications & Experience
OCT certification, RECE or EA
Background in early years or elementary education (K–Grade 4)
Knowledge of:
Inquiry-based and/or Reggio-inspired approaches
Structured literacy / Science of Reading
Child development and attachment theory
Experience in alternative education settings is an asset
